At last we have reached the easiest of the surfaces we have to deal with. WINSOL APC-120 will be adequate to clean most all of these materials with only a change in dilution as needed. Feel free to experiment with your mixing as using more or less will not harm your work but will impact the time and ease of cleaning.
Terry towels will still make an excellent cleaning tool or good sized sponges if you have them. Remember it is always necessary to rinse off soap before it dries as soap scum can be as hard to remove as some of the stubborn stains you can encounter during your restoration.
This might be a good place to go over some warnings to be heeded during restoration:
-DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES THAT HAVE BEEN CLOSE TO A FIRE BEFORE HAVING THEM CHECKED OUT.
-DO NOT USE CEILING FIXTURES IF THE CEILING IS WET.
-DO NOT EAT FOOD THAT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO FIRE OR SMOKE.
-DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING DURING YOUR FIRST INSPECTION TO PREVENT TRANSFERRING SOOT FROM ITEM TO ITEM.
-DO NOT WASH DRAPES OR OTHER MATERIALS THAT MAY REQUIRE DRY CLEANING.
-DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL FOR HELP OR ASK FOR ADVICE.
With a little time and effort you can get things back to normal.
